Latisse

Latisse is the first and only FDA and Health Canada approved treatment clinically proven to grow longer eyelashes, making them longer, thicker, and darker. It is a treatment for eyelash hypotrichosis (having inadequate or not enough eyelashes) and is the only lash growth product of its kind available. Latisse is considered a prescription medication and due to our physicians on-site, It is available at both RejuvaDERM locations in Grande Prairie and Edmonton.

The active ingredient in Latisse is bimatoprost, a substance that is thought to prolong the growth phase of the eyelashes. The longer the growth phase, the longer the hair. Additionally, Latisse makes more hair enter the growth phase, allowing hair to grow longer. Mascara can also be used to further enhance your eyelashes. Latisse is applied topically every day to the upper lash line using the applicator provided.

Latisse is contraindication in those with a past medical history of eye problems (ie. retinal detachment, glaucoma, elevated intraocular pressure), pregnancy or those breastfeeding. The most common side effects after using Latisse is an itching sensation in the eyes and/or eye redness, which has been reported in approximately 4% of patients in clinical studies. They may occur immediately after use, but should usually last only for a short period of time. Eye itching and eye redness are not allergic reactions, and do not mean that your eyes are being harmed.

Latisse works gradually but typically results are seen in as little as 4-8 weeks and achieving full growth in 16 weeks. To maintain your results, continue to use Latisse as instructed or your eyelashes.

At Rejuvaderm you will be seen by one of our skincare specialists to ensure Latisse is right for you.
